A Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) is a comprehensive check performed by a car dealership before handing over a vehicle to the customer, ensuring it’s in good working order, free from defects, and meets safety standards.
Roles and Responsibility:-
- The primary goal is to identify and rectify any issues before the vehicle is handed over to the customer
- Process of ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition before delivery to customers
- Encompassing inspections, repairs, and quality control.
- Receive & deliver vehicle & accessories as per fifo.
Skills required:
- Automotive Knowledge: A thorough understanding of vehicle systems, components, and potential issues is crucial.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Fluid Level Checks: Knowledge of checking and maintaining fluid levels (oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc.).
- Electrical Systems: Familiarity with basic electrical systems and their functionality.
- Documentation: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and other relevant documentation.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to identify even the smallest defects or inconsistencies is critical.
- Problem-Solving: Skill in diagnosing and resolving issues encountered during the PDI process.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication with customers, supervisors, and other team members.
- Organization: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
